You've chosen a time, crossed the calendar, and made the booking.
Now comes the easy part: just show up.
You'll receive a confirmation with everything you need - the date, time, meeting format, and either the location or connection details. Keep it handy, and let your calendar do the remembering.
You don't need to prepare a presentation, write an agenda, or figure out the perfect thing to say. If there's something you'd particularly like to talk about, bring it along. If you simply want to catch up, that's perfectly fine too.
For an online meeting, join when you're ready. A reasonably quiet place and a stable connection are helpful, but we're not expecting a television studio.
For an in-person meeting, your confirmation will tell you where to go. If you're running late, just let us know. Flights get delayed, trains have their own ideas about time, and sometimes a city decides that five minutes actually means fifteen.
And if your plans change, that's okay too. Cancel or reschedule when you can, and we'll find another moment.
The conversation itself doesn't need a script. It might be about travel, sustainability, technology, a project, an idea, or something neither of us expected. That's usually where the interesting conversations begin.
There doesn't have to be a project at the end. There doesn't even have to be a follow-up.
Sometimes two people simply meet, talk, laugh, exchange a few ideas, and continue on their way.
That's enough.
So bring your curiosity, bring a story, bring a question - or just come as you are.
The booking is only the beginning. The conversation is the point.
